Two Pilot Knob staffers receive
"Haugen's Hero" innovator awards
Technology Support Worker Kurt Koefod and Special Education Paraprofessional Sue Hanson were honored with "Haugen's Hero" awards from Superintendent Jay Haugen at the Faculty Appreciation Breakfast on Friday, June 6. The awards recognize outstanding innovation by district staff.
Kurt Koefod was nominated for his work on the school newspaper and his coordination of the work on our website, including virtual art shows and his photographical contributions to our "virtual lost and found," conceived by Tom Benson and encapsulated, constructed and animated by IMC coordinator and technology support administrator, Kathryn Marron.
Sue Hanson was nominated for her innovative classroom ideas and the success of her 20-year partnership with lead teacher Cathy Milostan (honored this year by Eagan Rotary).
Kurt is pictured above with Superintendent Haugen, School Board Chair Reine Shiffman, and Rick Allen of Liberty Mutual, sponsor of the faculty breakfast and awards. Sue was unable to attend the ceremony.

2008-09 Free and Reduced Meal Information AvailableHouseholds that received free or reduced price meals during the 2007-2008 school year will need to reapply for the 2008-2009 school year. This "Application for Educational Benefits" is also used to determine funding for other important educational programs in the District. Applications are available at each school, the Child Nutrition Office, online, and in the 2008-2009 school calendar. Link to application and additional information.
