2015-16 Kindergarten Registration Starts Jan. 20
2015-16 Kindergarten Registration starts online Jan. 20
Posted on 01/02/2015

Starting this January parents and guardians will now be able to complete the 2015-16 Kindergarten enrollment process online. Registration will begin online January 20 at 8:30 a.m. Families should also plan to attend kindergarten registration night with their child at Pilot Knob on January 22 from 6-8 p.m.

At registration night parents can have their registration questions answered and speak with teachers, the school nurse, School-Age Childcare and the principal. The event is also a great opportunity for children to become familiar with their new school.

Families should complete the online registration process (or as much as they can) before the event. Parents/guardians who would rather complete paper forms may visit www.isd197.org/enroll to download and print the necessary documents. Registrations packets can also be picked up at any school’s office. All completed paperwork should be brought to registration night on January 22, along with an official birth certificate or hospital registration of birth. Please only complete one process—online or paper.

Students who would like to enroll at a school other than the one in their attendance area must first request an Intra-district Transfer. Families who have submitted a transfer request should start by registering at Pilot Knob. If the transfer is approved by the district, registration paperwork will be sent to the child’s new school. More information regarding the Intra-district Transfer process is available at www.isd197.org/enroll or by contacting any school office. Should a family like to attend a school other than their neighborhood school, transportation will be available upon request.

In the 2015-16 school year District 197 will offer full-day kindergarten at all five elementary schools. Due to changes by the State of Minnesota in 2014, full-day kindergarten will again be offered at no charge to families.

All students entering kindergarten in a public school in Minnesota must complete an early childhood screening. More information about screening can be found on the TriDistrict Community Education website or by calling 651-403-7635.

Every child must also have a current immunization record on file before they start school in the fall.

If you have any questions about kindergarten registration please call the Pilot Knob main office at 651-403-7900.
